The death of Uncle Billy Burge which occurred at his home in Talbotton last 
Sunday afternoon at one o’clock has brought sadness to many hearts, for he was 
beloved by every man, woman and child who knew him.  At the time of his death 
he was eighty-eight years old.  The last 59 years of his life were spent in 
Talbotton.  He was for 40 years sexton of the Methodist church and nearly that 
long Coroner of Talbot County.  Uncle Billy was a true Christian – he lived and 
died in the faith.  His form will be missed from the street, church and home, 
but in the memory of our people he will continue to live. – West Georgia News
