Talbot COUNTY GA Phillips, Solomon File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Angela Covington http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/talbot/obits/phillips.txt Wreck Kills Talbot Man TALBOTTON, Ga., Oct 27 - Solomon Phillips, 32, Talbot County farmer, was instantly killed Sunday morning when struck by an automobile on the Macon-Columbus highway, five miles west of Talbotton. Phillips stepped from behind a parked automobile and was hit by the car driven by an officer from Fort McPherson, Ga. The automobile, with four officers in it, was en route to Columbus when the accident occurred. Talbotton Policeman R.A. McKinnon, who investigated, said no charge was made because the accident seemed unavoidable. Mr. Phillips, know as “Buddy” in this section, is survived by a wife and one child.
