Rev. Urban Cooper Tigner, son of Philip Tigner (deceased) was
born in Clarke county, Ga., Oct. 16, 1805; was married to
Susanah Slaton, Dec. 23, 1830; died in Talbot county, Ga.,
Sept. 2, 1873. L. B. Payne

Company I - 46th Regiment
TIGNER, Urban Cooper, Jr -Private Mar 4, 1862.
Captured near Atlanta, Ga July 28, 1864. Transfered from Camp
Chase, Ohio to City Point, Va Mar 4, 1865. Received at Boulware
& Cox's Wharves, James River, Va Mar 10-12, 1865.

W.C. Tigner actually deeded the land for the cemetery to the Collingsworth Methodist Chapel in 1859.  Rev. W.C. Tigner was performing marriages in Talbot County in the 1850's.
