The ceremony was performed by Rev. W.F. Hixon. The bride and groom left on the noon train for their future home in Florida. An elegant reception was given the wedding guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L.P. Freeman Wednesday night. The Talbotton New Era Thursday, November 24, 1910 Page Eight Personal Items On Friday afternoon, Nov. 11, Miss Clara Freeman, a charming bride of this month, was complimented with a “Miscellaneous Shower” given by Mrs. Hamilton P. Weston. The parlor and reception hall were beautifully decorated in potted plants, smilax and autumn leaves. An interesting feature of the occasion was a contest, “The Wedding of Operas,” after which, tiny hand painted wedding bells were distributed and each guest wrote a good wish for the young bride. Mrs. Cahil was the fortunate winner of the prize, a white tulle jabot with a small spray of orange blossoms and Freeman was presented a picture of a lovely bride. Mrs. W.O. DeLoache sang beautifully, To the End of the World with You and The Garden of Roses. After partaking of dainty Charlotte Rousse and cake the guests marched to the strains of Mendelshon’s down the hallway, where the fair young bride-to-be was seated neath an autumn bower. Exquisite gifts were showered upon her, thick as leaves in Valambrosa. The hostess, Mrs. Weston, wore an afternoon gown of golden brown chiffon over silk. The honoree wore a beautiful toilet of ceil blue marquisette over Persian silk. Mrs. Pierce Weston assisted in entertaining and wore a lovely dress of Wisteria silk. Little Miss Dorothy Rawls Weston received with her mother and was a fairy of delight in a beautiful hand embroidered frock.
