Leonard-Atwater

The marriage of Miss Susie Eugenia Atwater to Dr. William Parker Leonard, at 
the bride’s elegant home in Thomaston, was one of the most brilliant social 
events of the season.  As the clock chimed five, the bridal party, consisting 
of Mr. Arthur Small and Miss Katherine Atwater, Mr. James Atwater and Miss Ella 
Leonard entered the artistic parlors and awaited the coming of the lovely 
bride, Miss Susie Atwater and Dr. William Leonard.  The happy couple were 
united for time and eternity by Rev. R.F. Nixon.

The bride is one of Thomaston’s most popular and attractive young women, 
wherever she goes she wins a circle of admiring friends.  Dr. Leonard is a 
splendid young physician with a bright future before him.  He graduated with 
distinction from several literary and medical colleges, and is a noble 
descendant of Talbot County’s grand old families.

Mr. and Mrs. William Capers Hightower entertained at a pre-nuptial reception on 
Tuesday evening.  The immediate friends and relatives partook of a dainty tea 
on Wednesday following the impressive ceremony, after which, the party left for 
Columbus amid a shower of congratulations.  A special car met them at Paschal.

Dr. and Mrs. William Parker Leonard are at home to their friends in the 
beautiful home Lenhurst, where they are receiving innumberable good wishes from 
noted people throughout the state.

Those who accompanied Dr. Leonard from Talbotton were: Messrs. A. Small, Edward 
Bardwell, Neid McGehee, Chas. Kimbrough, Misses Ella Leonard and Mary Matthews.
