Kellum were made husband and wife. The scene was at the “Sunshine “ cottage, the home of Mr. and Mrs. H.J. Lawrence; and while it was quickly decided and quickly done, yet preparations were made for the affair and it was a pretty wedding. The room was decorated with roses, ferns and evergreens and as Lohengrin’s wedding march came clearly and thrillingly up from the touch of Miss Annie Jameson the happy couple marched across the hall into the parlor filled with guests and took their position amid a profusion of flowers. Rev. J.A. Thomas tied the hymeneal knot according to the beautiful ceremony of the Methodist church while in soft notes “Juamata” was played by the same musician. Those present were: Misses Maude Jordan, Annie Jameson, Lucy and Ethel Webster, Dr. W.H. Philpot, Messrs. W.K. Couch, Overton Lawrence, of Mansfield, Rev. J.A. Thomas and the Editor’s family. That night a reception was given with only a few invited guests. The happy couple will at “at home” to their friends in Roughedge at Mathews Chapel in the future.
