Mathews – Woodall

One of the pretty weddings of the spring was that of Miss Alberta Mae Mathews 
and Mr. John H. Woodall of Woodland.

Which took place at Colinsworth church on the evening of May 18th at one 
o’clock. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Ingram.  The church was 
beautifully decorated with quantities of palms and smilax about the altar.  
First came Miss Martha Porch and Mr. R.M. Woodall, Miss Maybelle Mathews and 
Mr. J.H. Ferguson, Miss Maggie Mathews and Mr. H.H. Hightower, Miss Annie Drew 
and Mr. O. Daniel, Miss Mattie Seals and Mr. H.L. Mathews, Miss Jessie Woodall 
and Mr. Gary, Mrs. C.W. Mathews was maid of honor.

The bride entered with her father, Mr. Tom F. Mathews and was met by the groom 
and Mr. Charles W. Mathews who acted as best man.  The bride was married in a 
traveling suit of brown and wore a hat to match, her flowers were Marshallnell 
roses and lace ferns.  The attendants wore white with black hats.  Mrs. C.D. 
Mathews with her soft sweet touch played the wedding march.

Mr. and Mrs. Woodall left after the marriage for a bridal tour and will be at 
their home in Woodall after June 1st.

Miss Martha K. Porch has returned home after a very pleasant visit to her aunt 
Mrs. C.D. Matthews.  Miss Porch came over from Barnesville to attend the 
wedding of Miss Berta May Matthews and Mr. John Woodall, though we are sorry 
to say that a severe attack of headache marred her pleasure considerably on 
that occasion.
