Sons Allen and Chelsey Marshall moved to Crawford Co., GA and died there. Allen’s daughter and son-in- law, Edward and Martha Marshall Andrews, raised Allen’s minor children. Chelsey’s widow, Kizziah Brooks Marshall, remarried Jacob Lowe and raised his children Lucy Ann and Mathew Marshall. Son Asa Marshall moved to Crawford Co., GA and then later to Taylor Co., GA. Son Mathew A. Marshall moved out of the area completely by 1840 (possibly went to AL). Don’t know about the other children, yet. Please contact me if this family interests you. Will Book A, pg 149-152 Lucy Marshall’s Will Georgia, Talbot County I, Lucy Marshall, of Said Sate and County being of Sound disposing mind and memory knowing that all persons have to die, and being desirous of disposing of my worldly goods do make ordain and declare the following to be my last will and testament hereby revoking all others which I may have previously made Item 1st I commit my Soul to him who made it and desire that my body be decently interred by my executors hereafter named Item 2nd I give and bequeath the sum of Ten dollars to each of my following named children (viz) ALLEN MARSHALL, SARAH McNEIL, ASA MARSHALL, MATTHEW A. MARSHALL, MARGARET McNEIL, RHODA MORRIS, and THOMAS S. MARSHALL, Item 3rd I give and bequeath to my daughter LUCY ANN POLK the sum of four hundred Dollars. Item 4 I give and bequeath to LUCY ANN and MATTHEW MARSHALL my grandchildren each the sum of five dollars. Item 5th I give and bequeath and devide(sic) the whole of the balance and remainder of my estate (viz) PETER a man Slave about forty years of age, ROILER a Negro woman about twenty years of age, MAHALA a Negro woman about twenty two years of age, ELIPHAIR a girl Slave about eight years old, together with my stock, household and kitchen furniture, goods and affects of every description, and the Lot of Land whereon I now live (viz) no. 276, 1st district originally Muscogee now Talbot County, containing two hundred two and a half acres more or less, to my son JAMES M. MARSHALL. Item 6, I appoint my Son JAMES M. MARSHALL my Executor, and desire him to pay the foregoing legacies, after the payment of my just debts. HICKS and WILLIAM STALLINGS Justices of the Inferior Court of Said County, JOSHUA NEWSOM who being duly sworn deposeth and Saith that the within and foregoing is the true last will and testament of LUCY MARSHALL deceased, so far as he knows or believes, that said LUCY MARSHALL was of sound disposing mind and memory at the time of publishing and declaring said Will, that she signed the dame in his presence, and that he signed the same will as a witness in her presence and in the presence of JOHN MITCHELL and JOHN WHATLEY and that said MITCHELL and WHATLEY signed said will as witnesses in the presence of said JOSHUA NEWSOM and of said deceased -- Sworn to and subscribed before us this 24th day of June 1844.
