Martin Georgia Talbot County I John C. Martin of the County and State aforesaid do make and publish this to be my last will and testament in manner [of form] following to wit. Item 1st I wish all of my debts paid out of my Estate. Item 2nd It is my will and wish that after the payment of my debts that the whole of my Estate both real and personal shall shall be kept together as a Common Stock fund for the joint use and support of my wife and all of my children, to be educated and reared out of same and it is my wish that as my children arrive at age or marry they auto draw from the Common Stock their respective share the same to be taken out of valuation, having agreed to quality and quantity the remainder to be kept as before, directed and so on until the Youngest shall arrive at age or marry, provided however if my wife should choose at any time to draw from my Estate her share she is at liberty to do so which is to be an equal share with the children and it is my will and wish that my Executor in the management of my Estate are to have power to sell and buy and reinvest again in nay kind of property and are hereby clothed with such powers in the sale of land or negroes or other property as they in ! their judgement may deem most conducive to the interest & welfare of my Estate and it is further my wish that if my Executor at any time should find it to the interest of my Estate to have the same divided they are hereby authorized to do so and so managed same as their judgement. may seem best adapted for the joint interest of my wife & children I do hereby nominate and appoint my brother in law Irbane A. Leonard & my wife Lettitia Martin Executor & Executrix of this my last will & testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 15th day of November 1857.
