This home took up both sides of this road. Mom told me that it was much like driving through his front yard when they went to visit with cousin Jesse. Mary Coma Edwards, daughter of Etheldred and Mattie Edwards was born February 22, 1882 in Taliaferro County, Georgia. She married December 29, 1901 in Taliaferro County to Thomas Hamlin ?Ham? Boswell born November 20, 1874. Ham or Hamb was the son of Peter Keith Boswell and Mary Kate Shepherd. Ham's father Peter Keith Boswell was born October 18, 1840 near Fauquier County, Virginia. He was generally called Keith. Keith was described as tall, handsome, 5 '8, light Complexion; light hair; blue eyes. Keith first married Mary Kate Shepherd; she died August 18, 1878, when their only child, Thomas Hamlin Boswell was two years old. Ham registered for the draft on September, 12 1918; and was listed as medium height and medium build. Ham and Coma were living in Garfield, Ga. After the War they relocated near Robinson, Georgia and made a home at the Cross Roads. Mary died October 06, 1954; Ham died on May 22, 1964. Both are buried in the Sandy Cross Baptist Church Cemetery. Their children are: Mattie Kathleen, Thomas Keith, George Hamlin, Boyd Etheldred, Annie Laurie, Hugh Elliott, and Albert Sydney. While researching the life of Uncle Keith Boswell, I discovered he fought in the Civil War and served as a private in the famous Terrible Black Horse Cavalry which was part of Williams Carter Wickam's 4th Virginia cavalry, Fitz Lee's Division, JEB Stuart's Cavalry Corps, Army of Northern Virginia. This Calvary Troop was mustered in Fauquier County and escorted General Stonewall Jackson. Uncle Keith was severely wounded at the battle of Brandy Station, August 1 1863, but recovered and remained in the service. After the War he returned to farming with his family in Virginian then purchased 159.42 Acres of land on June 3, 1883, in Tallahassee, Florida. Keith and his son Thomas Hamlin Boswell, born November 20, 1875 left the Florida shores and went to live in Georgia, where he met the daughter of Etheldred and Julia Edwards, the widow Cordelia Edwards Standifer. Keith married the lovely Cordelia on June 13, 1883. He died in Crawfordville on December 20, 1900. (I am still researching the Boswell family history. I have located many descendants of Ham and Coma scattered across the states.)
