BATTLE 
A cemetery is located in the yard at the Old Veasey Home-
place now owned and occupied by Larry and Ruth Veasey.
There are at least four graves inside a perimeter of
upright stones about knee high. According to tradition
the servants of Dr. William Battle, a dentist, are buried
here. It is not believed that Dr. Battle is buried here.
The Veasey Homeplace is located on the west side of
Georgia Highway 22 about 11 miles from the Hancock County
line.
