DOWNING

Harriet Perkins Downing	
1810 1891

James Downing	
1813 1896

These are the only obvious graves at this site. It is
possible that Nancy Downing Williams, grandmother of
Carey Williams, Sr. of Greensboro is buried near here but
no definite evidence has been found. 

The graves are enclosed by a cyclone type fence although
the area inside is grown up with small trees, bushes and
vines. 

This plot is located on the south side of Highway 278
about five miles west of Crawfordville and about one mile
east of Robinson on land owned by F. G. Mitchell, Jr.
just a few steps from the highway and near a railroad
crossing.
