JOHNSTON

directions:
The Johnston cemetery is 40 paces to the left of a
field road leading from Road # 30 on the county map
known as County Line Road or Johnston Road being the
line between Hancock and Taliaferro counties.

It is about .35 mile northeast of Road 30 and the
field road leads northeasterly about 2.2 miles east
of Road # 31 or the Lacy Road. In 1979 there were
three residences on the Hancock County side where the
field road leads into Taliaferro County.  The graves
are about 3/4 mile south of Powells Creek and are
enclosed by a deteriorating rocic wall.  There are
several dogwoods within the wall.
