A stone placed by the Georgia Baptist Asso-ciation states that the remains of Silas and Dorcas Mercer were removed and reinterred in front of Philllps Mill Baptist Church on Oct. 12, 1976. This cemetery is just inside the Tallaferro County line near Wilkes County and the Ficklin community. It can be found by turning west onto an unimproved county road from Georgia Highway 47 at Ficklin. Less than 1 mile west of Highway 47 this dirt road makes a deep bend to the south. Just around this bend is a relatively good field road to the west. The cemetery is about 1 mile down this field road on the right.
