MURDEN-ELLINGTON Directions: Tradition has it that a man and his six year old son were passing through Robinson and the man became ill. He and his son spent the night at the Murden home and the man didn't live through the.night. He was burled in-the Murden-Elllngton cemetery and the boy continued alone in the wagon on his way to South Carolina. This cemetery is located on the south side of US Highway 278 about 5 1/2 miles west of Crawfordvllle at the intersection of 278 and the old abandoned road that formerly lead from 278 toward Bethany Presbyterian Church. It is enclosed by a cyclone fence. Many of the graves are covered with engraved slabs that are broken into pieces and the writer had to put them together like puzzles to ascertain the names and dates. Fannie M.
