CUNNINGHAM AND FORMERLY ELIZABETH C. DARRICOTT – WITH JAMES B. DARRICOTT AS GUARDIAN of said Elizabeth C. touching the property of said Elizabeth C. so received by him and in his hands as guardian as aforesaid he has accounted for and delivered the following negroes to wit Henry a man Linsey a woman and her two children Harrison and Wright[?] being four in all which negroes were received by said James B – as guardian as aforesaid of the admr on the ESTATE OF WILLIAM MASON of La. Decd. at the sum of thirty five Hundred and Eighty five Dollars or in lieu of three promissory notes for Eleven Hundred and ninety five Dollars each and due respectively on the seventeenth day of February Eighteen Hundred and thirty eight [note from Rhoda – maybe something missing here] Nine and forty making in the aggregate the said sum of Thirty five hundred and Eighty five Dollars the same being part of the distributive portion of the estate of said William Mason Decd. to which said Elizabeth C. is entitled and which negroes have by me been conveyed and delivered given to Thomas Chaffin by Deed to hold in trust for the sole and separate use &c. of the said Elizabeth C. for and during her natural life. And also that I have in the right of my wife as aforesaid received of the said James B. guardian as aforesaid the sum of two Hundred and thirty five Dollars in full for the hire of said negroes until the twenty fifth day of December next as well as an order in writing from the said James B. to the Cashier and officers of the H O [sic- see note below] Canal and Banking Company of La for a note deposited by said James B. in said Bank for the sum of Eight Hundred and thirty four Dollars $834.00 and which Note was received by the said James B. as guardian as aforesaid as the full distributive portion to which the said Elizabeth C. was entitled in THE ESTATE OF HER UNCLE WILLIAM MASON OF MI DECD. the said negroes at the sum and in lieu &c. as aforesaid with their said Hire and the said Eight Hundred and Thirty four dollars note being all the property or intire Interest of the said Elizabeth C. TO WHICH SHE WAS ENTITLED IN THE ESTATES OF HER GRAND FATHER WILLIAM MASON OF LA DECEASED AND HER UNCLE WILLIAM MASON OF MI DECED so far as upon said Settlement is represented by said James B. to have been collected by him or have come into his hands as guardian as aforesaid, I having(?) in said Settlement paid and satisfied said James B. in full for all his costs and charges against the said Elizabeth C. as well for bond &c. as for his monies and interest thereon &c. by him paid out and expended in and about the getting said property so accounted for as aforesaid. /s/ W. Darracott was born about 1823 in Alabama, daughter of James B. Darracott and his first wife, Miss Mason. She married William A. Cunningham, February 2, 1839 in Taliaferro Co.
