Grier Justices of the Inferior Court of said County sitting for Ordinary purposes do hereby certify that Quinea O’Neal is Clerk of said Court and that the foregoing signature purporting to be his as such is genuine – and that the accompanying certificate in due form of Law – Given under our hands at Crawfordville Taliaferro County Georgia this ninth day of March Eighteen Hundred and thirty eight – Aaron W. Grier J.I.C. Buford Bird J.I.C. Francis Scott J. I. C. Georgia Taliaferro County Know all men by these presents, that we James B. Darracott, Thomas Chaffin, Thomas D. Borum, John E. King, Wilie Cherry and William Alexander are held and firmly bound to their Honors the Justices of the Inferior court for said County, sitting for ordinary purposes and their successors in office, in the just and full sum of Thirty two Thousand dollars, for the payment of which sum, to the said Justices and their successors in office, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents, sealed with our seals, and dated this the Ninth day of March One thousand eight hundred and Thirty Eight. The condition of the above obligation is such, that whereas the said James B. Darracott was this day appointed guardian of the property of Elizabeth C. Darracott minor of the said James B. Darracott now if the said James B. Darracott do well and truly ________(?) himself as guardian of aforesaid, agreeably to letters of guardianship bearing even date herewith, and agreeably to law, in such cases made and provided, the above obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue - Signed: J. Grier Buford Bird Francis Scott (Justices) Upon the application of James B. Darracott for the guardianship of the property of his daughter Elizabeth C. Darracott minor under the age of Twenty one years and her consent thereto given and made in open Court and upon said James B. Darracott, having taken the oath required by law and entered unto his bond in the sum of Thirty two Thousand Dollars and Thomas Chaffin, Thomas D. Borum, William Alexander, John E. King and Wilie Cherry securities thereto it is ordered by the Court that said application be granted and that said James B. Darricott be appointed to the guardianship of all and singular the rights effects and property of his said Daughter Elizabeth C. Darricott – and that letters of guardianship do issue accordingly. Borum and from our acquaintance with their pecuniary affairs and standing do not hesitate to say in our estimation that they are worth thirty two thousand dollars of ______(?).
