The Augusta Chronicle
SUPERIOR COURT CONVENE IN CRAWFORDVILLE
  Crawfordville, Ga., Aug. 22.—(Special.)—Taliaferro Superior Court convened 
this morning, Judge Horace M. Holden, presiding.
  Mr. Joseph W. Farmer is foreman of the grand jury.
  There is considerable business before the Court, most of which is criminal.  
There are some eight or ten prisoners in jail and quite a number for trial who 
are now out on bail.  Much of the criminal business grows out of the riot on 
July 4th last at Hillman, Ga.
  The Judge delivered one of his characteristically strong charges to the grand 
jury.  Several visiting lawyers are present.
