The Augusta Chronicle, Sunday, September 16, 1917

DR. L. M. ANDREWS HAS PASSED AWAY
   Crawfordville, Ga., Sept. 14 – Dr. L. M. Andrews of Greene County, ten miles 
from this place, died this morning at 4 o’clock, after a long illness.  He was 
82 years old, and a Confederate soldier.  He went to the war as lieutenant, but 
was soon made captain of Company D, Forty-Ninth Georgia, and made an excellent 
record as a soldier.  He was actively engaged in the practice of medicine till 
his health prevented further active service in his profession.  He is survived 
by his wife, Mrs. Lizzie Andrews, who was a Miss Moore at the time of her 
marriage in 1866, three sons, Jesse Andrews, of Atlanta; Warren, Otis Andrews, 
and one daughter, Mrs. Pearl King, of Greene County.  His remains will be 
interred in the Bethany Cemetery, Saturday.  
   Dr. Andrews was a brother of Judge M. Z. Andrews, ordinary of Taliaferro 
County.  



Additional Comments:
Lunceford M. Andrews was born July 12, 1835, died September 14, 1917, son of 
Warren Andrews and America Darden.  He was married November 20, 1866, Greene 
Co., to Jedidah(sp?) Elizabeth Moore (“Lizzie”).  She was born 1825 and died 
1924, daughter of Jesse F. Moore and Frances A. Mapp.  Both are buried in 
Bethany Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Greene Co.
