Andrews which took place this morning at 10 o’clock at the home of his niece, Mrs. J. H. Callahan. He suffered a fracture of the hip last summer and since that time, has never been really well; and has declined rapidly in health since the death of his wife, Mrs. Mary Reid Andrews, about two months ago. Judge Andrews, who was 78 years of age, has served as ordinary of Taliaferro county for 28 years and his close attention to his business is proverbial throughout the county. He read law under the late Alexander H. Stephens, and during his service as judge of superior court for several years, it was said that never once was his decision reversed by the supreme court. He was a graduate of Mercer University. During his long tenure of office as ordinary he has never had opposition. Having lost his only child, several years ago, no immediate member of his family survives, although he has a number of nieces and nephews in Taliaferro county, and other relatives in that county, and Greene county. Mr. Pierre Ramp, Miss Ramp and Mrs. Ada Ramp Walden are the Augusta relatives of Judge Andrews. The Augusta Chronicle, Monday March 11, 1929 FUNERAL HELD FOR JUDGE M. Z. Andrews took place Saturday morning at the home of his niece, Mrs. John Callahan, the services being conducted by Rev. G. S. Steed of the Baptist church, assisted by Rev. A. G. McInnis of the Presbyterian church and the interment followed in Crawfordville cemetery. Many floral offerings and the presence of a large concourse of friends expressed the esteem in which he was held. No resident of the county was more greatly beloved than Judge Andrews. Of high ideals, a man who spoke naught but good of any one; and whose life, politically and otherwise, was entirely without reproach, he possessed the staunchest of friends in all walks of life, all of whom will mourn his demise.
