J. W. ATCHISON PASSES AWAY

Mr. James William Atchison, 92, died at his home in Crawfordville on Friday 
morning, January 23rd.

The funeral was held on Sunday, January 25, at 3:30 p.m. at the Crawfordville 
Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Hudmon officiating.  Interment was in the 
Crawfordville Cemetery.

Mr. Atchison was a retired cotton ginner, a merchant and contractor.  A 
lifelong resident of Taliaferro County, he was a member of the Crawfordville 
Baptist Church and a member of the Crawfordville Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Eleanor Caldwell Atchison; two daughters, 
Mrs. Martha A. Schuff of Crawfordville and Mrs. Gilbert Hancock of New 
Hartford, N.Y.; grandchildren, Rev. and Mrs. Kenneth Schuff of Crawfordville 
and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Hancock of New Hartford, N.Y.; a great granddaughter, 
Midd (sic) Kimberly Lea Schuff of Crawfordville; a neice (sic) whom he and Mrs. 
Atchison reared, Miss Letty Ashworth of Fayetteville; one sister, Mrs. Ollie 
Taylor of Crawfordville.  Pallbearers were Owens Lunceford, Mark Greene, Carl 
Chapman, Bill Watson, T.C. Harrington, and Paul Ellington, Jr.
