Funeral Services Held For Mr. Willie Gus "Bubber" Bird

Mr. Willie Gus "Bubber" Bird, 77, of 237 Alexander St. S.W. Crawfordville, Ga. 
died Friday, Dec. 11, 1992, at Boswell-Parker Nursing Center, Greensboro.

Mr. Bird, a lifelong resident of Crawfordville, had retired as an 
electrician/plummer (sic).  He was a member of the Crawfordville Methodist 
Church.  He served in Civilian Conservation Corps at Brooklet Ga. and for a 
number of years worked at U.S. Navy Shipyard in Charleston, S.C.

Survivors include a son, William Robert Bird, Mt. Juliet, TN, a daughter, 
Louise Weldon, Lithonia, Ga., sisters Margaret Akins, Raceland Ky., Nina Kate 
Leaphart, Charleston, S.C., Laura McLaren, Terre Haute, Ind., and Josie Bird, 
Crawfordville, Granddaughters, Beth Creasy, Mt. Juliet, Tn. and Alicia Weldon, 
Lithonia, Ga. and great grandsons, Hunter Augustus Creasy and Logan Steed 
Creasy of Mt. Juliet, Tn.

Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Crawfordville Baptist 
Cemetery with the Revs. Jefferson Ottwell and Floyd Jenkins officiating.

The family requested that memorials be made to the Crawfordville Baptist 
Cemetery fund in lieu of flowers.

Hopkins Funeral Home, Washington was in charge of service.
