Funeral Services Held For Mrs. Mary Gordon Golucke Chew

Mrs. Mary Gordon Golucke Chew, 86, of Crawfordville, died July 21, 1997 at 
Minnie G. Boswell Hospital in Greensboro.

Mrs. Chew was a native of Taliaferro county and had lived all of her life 
here.  She was a retired school teacher and a member of Crawfordville 
Presbyterian Church.

She was an elder of the church and an organist for a number of years.  She 
taught for over 50 years in the Taliaferro County School System, was a member 
of Chi Omega, a graduate of the University of Georgia earning her Masters in 
Education, a member of the Education Society, a member of the Delta Kappa 
Gamma, a member of Alexander Stephens State Park Division of the United 
Daughters of the Confederacy.

She was the daughter of the late Mr. Ralph Wesley Golucke and the late Mrs. 
Mary McCord Golucke.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Mr. Larry Hayes Chew, Jr.

She is survived by nieces, Mary Rood Bagwell and Amelia Rood Crockett; nephew, 
Ralph E. Rood; two step-sons, Richard A. Chew, Lawrenceville and Harry Hayes 
Chew, III, Norcross; sister, Amelia Golucke Brook, Conyers; three step-
grandchildren; number of great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Charles Golucke Rood, Jr., Carlyle Rood, Jack Rood, John M. 
Bagwell, II, Robert E. Bagwell, Chad Capper.

Memorials may be made to Crawfordville Presbyterian Church in lieu of flowers.

Callaway Funeral Home, Union Point in charge of arrangements.
