Funeral Services Held For Mrs. Helen Steed Chapman

	Mrs. Helen Steed Chapman, 120 Park Street, Crawfordville, Ga., died at 
Minnie G. Boswell Hospital on October 6, 1996
	Mrs. Chapman was a lifelong resident of Taliaferro County. She was a 
retired school teacher for the Taliaferro County school systems. She had taught 
school for 40 years in Taliaferro and Greene Counties.
	She was a graduate of the University of Georgia and Georgia College of 
Milledgeville and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.
	She was a member of Crawfordville Baptist Church where she had taught 
the T.E.L. Sunday School Class.
	She was born on October 15, 1911, in Taliaferro County, the daughter of 
the late Rev. George C. Steed and Jennie William Steed. She was preceded in 
death by her husband, the late Walter O. Chapman.
	She is survived by two daughters, Jane B. Chapman of Crawfordville and 
Dr. Kathryn N. Chapman of Louisville, Ky.; two sons, Terry Chapman, Fairburn, 
Ga., and William C. Chapman of Crawfordville; 2 grandchildren. She was preceded 
in death by a son, Donald Steed Chapman.
	Funeral serviced were held Tuesday, October 8, 1996 at 4:00 at 
Crawfordville Baptist Church with Dr. Jimmy Waters.
	Interment in Crawfordville Cemetery.
	Pallbearers were Charles Greene, Charles Chapman, Milton Clemmons, Gray 
Fowler, Charles Stewart, Harry Reynolds, Darrell Whitehead, Mitchell Noggle.
	Callaway Funeral Home, Union Point, Ga., in charge of arrangements.
