Taylor, and step-daughter of Maj. H. D. Smith, which took place at her step-father's residence at 2 o'clock on last Friday night. The remains of Mrs. Taylor were intered at Bethany Presbyterian church, in Greene county, on Sunday evening, Rev. Wm. H. Davis, pastor of the church, conducting the funeral services. A large congregation was present to pay their last regards to the youthful dead. The death of Mrs. Taylor was not unexpected, for a long time she had suffered with that fell destroyer, Consumption, and for four months had been confined to her bed. Fully aware of her situation, she suffered on with Christian patience, and when the message from on High came for her to leave the ills of Earth, it found her ready to go, and today her disembodied spirit rejoices in the eternal presence of her Savior. Conscious to the last moment, she gave her near and dear ones present a parting kiss, thanked them all for their pure love and tender kindness, and fell asleep in her mother's arms, leaving behind her a proof of religion and the goodness of God. They mourn her early doom, but not as those without hope.
