During the day he had been about town in his usual health, which was always excellent. After supper he sat talking with the members of his family until about ten o'clock. Then suddenly and without warning he was stricken speechless with paralysis. A physician was sent for but before he arrived Mr. Holden was dead. He was about 68 years of age, a man of pleasant address and attractive manners. He leaves a wife and five children and a large circle of relatives and friends and all extend condolence with them in this sudden and sorrowful visitation of providence. Additional Comments: Wm. Franklin Holden is buried in the Crawfordville Baptist Cemetery. His wife was Nancy Moore. Children=Wm. Oscar Holden, John Franklin Holden, Horace Moore Holden, Thomas Claude Holden and Stella Holden.
