Edwards remb@utk.edu January 27, 2005, 11:38 am The Advocate Democrat,, Crawfordville, GA, March 19, 2004 Funeral Services Held For Myra Ray Jackson Myra Ray Jackson, 90, of Crawfordville, Georgia died March 11, 2004 in the McDuffie County Regional Hospital. A native of Norwood, Georgia, Mrs. Jackson was the daughter of the late Edward Smith Ray and the late Elizabeth Jane Norman. She was preceeded in death by her husband George Moore Jackson and her sister Katherine Ray. Mrs. Jackson was a teacher for 30 years at Alexander Stephens Institute, a member of the Crawfordville Baptist Church where she taught in the beginner, primary, and junior departments for years. She was a member of Alpha Theta Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma International and the American Legion Auxiliary. Funeral services were held Sunday, March 14, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at the Crawfordville Baptist Church with Rev. John Autry and Rev. Don Ormsbee officiating. Burial was in Crawfordville Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Jane Highsmith of Hephzibah, Georgia; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Ormsbee and husband Don Ormsbee of Gainesville, Georgia, and Jack Highsmith and wife Andrea Highsmith of Evans, Georgia; five great-grandchildren, Jordan Ormsbee, Jackson Ormsbee, Will Highsmith, Emily Highsmith and Anna Highsmith. Pallbearers were Aubrey Highsmith, Jack Highsmith, George Nelson, Robert Sjulson, Harry Clark, Dr. John Wade, Jack Johnston, John Davis and David Cheek. Junior pallbearers were Jackson Ormsbee and Will Highsmith. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Tom Neal, Sr., Dr. Tom Neal, Jr., Donald Bryan, Broadus Norman, Charles Stewart, Bobby Jones, Robert Harold Kendrick, Charles Greene, Lloyd Kelly, June Rutherford, and Allen Lawrence.
