RAYMOND LUNSFORD
 
Washington, GA. – Raymond Lunsford, 85, Route 2, died Friday in a Wilkes County 
hospital.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Resthaven cemetery with the Rev. 
Dale Neilson officiating.

Mr. Lunsford was a native of Taliaferro County but had lived in Wilkes County 
for 21 years.  He was a member of Phillips Mill Baptist Church and was a 
retired employee of the state Highway Department maintenance division.  

Survivors include his wife, Lenora Ogletree Lunsford; a daughter, Gladys 
Kelley, Wellsville, N.Y.; a son, Harold Lunsford, Covington; three 
stepdaughters, Ruth Doughty, Fairfax, Va.., and Patricia Propes and Norene 
Strickland, Forest Park, Ga.; three sister, Lottie Durham, Union Point, Dorothy 
Gibson, Thomaston, and [Mrs.] Aubrey Hackney, Washington; and two brothers, 
James Lunsford and Charles Lunsford, Detroit, Mich.  

Nephews will be pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Hopkins Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. today.

William Raymond Lunsford was December 17, 1898 (tombstone inscription, Resthaven Cemetery, Washington, GA)., Taliaferro Co., GA, son of 
William Oscar Lunsford and Mary Leone "Mamie" Rives.  He married (1) Clyde 
Beazley, January 23, 1921, Taliaferro County, and (2) Lenora Ogletree.
