Neva Portwood Patrick Dies

Mrs. Neva P. Patrick died in her home in Nashville, TN Feb. 1, 1996.  Mrs. 
Patrick was born on Oct. 25, 1896 in the Sandy Cross Community in Taliaferro 
Co., Georgia.  Her parents were John F. and Sally E. Portwood.  She was 99 
years old.  Burial was in Murfreesboro, TN.

After graduation from college, she taught school in Crawfordville and several 
other locations before she married Mr. Richard C. Patrick.  One of her first 
students in Crawfordville was Mr. Marvin Rhodes.

Mrs. Patrick is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Kitty 
Patrick, grandson Richard Patrick III of Nashville, TN and granddaughter 
Kathleen P. Hughes of Tuscaloosa, AL and two great granddaughters.  Mrs. 
Patrick was the sister of the late Dr. E. T. Portwood, formerly of 
Crawfordville, GA.
