FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR MR. WARREN T. PORTWOOD

	Mr. Warren T. Portwood of Sandy Springs died on October 3, 1996.
	Funeral services were held on October 5, 1996 at 1:30 at Mount Vernon 
Presbyterian Church. Entombment was at Arlington Memorial Park. Survivors 
include his wife, Julia Waters Portwood; a daughter, Ann Dee Portwood of 
Lawrenceville; a son, Dr. W. Thomas Portwood of Hickory, N.C.; a sister, Mrs. 
Martha Portwood Nelms of Gainesville; two grandchildren, Anna Kathryn Portwood 
of Atlanta and Jettie Portwood of Hickory, N.C.
	Mr. Portwood was a native of Taliaferro County. He was a graduate of 
Alexander H. Stephens Institute in Crawfordville and attended Vanderbilt 
University in Tennessee and the University of Georgia. He was retired from the 
Coca Cola Company and a member of Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church. He was a 
veteran of World War II.
	He was the son of the late Mattie Nash Portwood and the late Dr. Eulous 
Portwood of Crawfordville.
