CRAWFORDVILLE BOY KILLED IN ACCIDENT
Crawfordville, Ga, Dec. 22 -
Frankie Rhodes, eight-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Foster Rhodes, was killed 
instantly late this afternoon when his bicycle collided with a truck driven by 
Carlton Bacon.  

No charges are being preferred against Mr. Bacon, it is reported, as spectators 
said the child rode his bicycle directly in front of the moving truck and Mr. 
Bacon had no time to apply his brakes.  

Evidence revealed that when the boy attempted to pass the truck he ran directly 
into it.  

The Rhodes family have long been prominent in and around Crawfordville.  

Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Frank “Frankie” Foster Rhodes was born November 19, 1940, died December 22, 
1948, Crawfordville, Georgia, buried Crawfordville Cemetery.  He was son of 
William Foster Rhodes and Esther (aka Estha) Maltbie, both natives of 
Taliaferro Co.
