William H. Rhodes
   Crawfordville, GA.  William Holcomb Rhodes, 88, of Crawfordville died Sunday 
in a Dublin Ga. hospital.
   The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. today at the Crawfordville Baptist Church 
with the Revs Lewis Stokes and Floyd Jenkins officiating.  Burial will be in 
the church cemetery.
   Mr. Rhodes was a lifelong resident of Taliaferro County, Ga.  He was a World 
War I veteran and retired in 1958 after serving 54 years as a mail carrier.  He 
was a member of the Crawfordville Baptist Church where he served as deacon.  He 
also was a member of the Crawfordville American Legion Post No. 8.  
   Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Viola Bracey Rhodes and one daughter, Mrs. 
Martha Barr, Tifton, Ga.
   Pallbearers will be George Williams Jr., T. C. Harrington, Franklin Jones, 
Charles Green, Henry Moore Jr. and Owen Lunceford.
   Honorary pallbearers will be active and inactive deacons of the 
Crawfordville Baptist Church.  
   Friends may call at the residence of M. W. Callaway and Sons Funeral Home 
until 2 p m and then at the church.

William Holcomb Rhodes was born October 23, 1889, died June 4, 1978, son of 
William Chapman Rhodes and Rachel Ann Judson Chapman.  He was married August 
25, 1918 to Viola Davidson Bracey, daughter of Xenophon Bracey and Frances 
Sarah “Fanny” Brown.
