[Note from Rhoda:  there is an error in the obituary of Marion Ledbetter 
Sanchez.  It shows her mother, Lovie, as “the late Lobie Walker Sanchez.  Her 
mother was Lovie Walker Ledbetter.]

Mrs. Chas. S. Sanchez
Crawfordville, Ga. Dec. 10
Mrs. Charles S. Sanchez of Crawfordville, 59, died late yesterday in an Augusta 
hospital.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. from Sandy Cross Methodist 
Church, with the Rev. J. R. Thompson and the Rev. Max Whittimore officiating.  
Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Sanchez, who was Miss Marion Ledbetter before her marriage to the late Mr. 
Sanchez, was a school teacher, a member of the American Legion Auxilliary and 
the WSCS of Sandy Cross Methodist Church.  She was the daughter of the late A. 
S. Ledbetter of McDuffie County and the late Mrs. Lobie [sic] Walker Sanchez 
[sic] of Warren County.

Survivors include six sisters, Mrs. Adeline Penland of Berkeley, Calif., Mrs. 
J. C. Barrett of Bainbridge, Ga., Mrs. Oscar Hatfield of St. Petersburg, Fla., 
Mrs. Eddie Atchison of Crawfordville, Mrs. Joe Harris of Norwood, Ga., and Mrs. 
John Anderson of Atlanta; an uncle, R. E. Walker of Atlanta, and several nieces 
and nephews.  

Pallbearers will be George Fambrough, Fred Lunsford, J. C. Pierce, Bill Fouche, 
Brewer Edwards and Warren Johnson.

The body will be at the church one hour prior to the time of the services.

Marion Ledbetter was born July 1897, probably Warren Co., GA, died December 9, 
1956, Augusta, daughter of Alexander S. Ledbetter and Lovey Elizabeth Walker.  
She married Charles S. Sanchez, December 30, 1921, Taliaferro County.
