Albert M. Swann

UNION POINT, Ga. - Albert Melvin "Mell" Swann, 71, of Union Point, died Sunday 
in a Greene County hospital.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church with the 
Rev. Robert L. Whitmire officiating. Burial will be in Carter's Grove 
cemetery, Crawfordville, GA.

Mr. Swann was a Taliaferro County native and lived in Union Point for 33 
years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a retired manufacturing 
company employee.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Leila Mae O. Swann, three daughters, Mrs. 
Billy Coile, Union Point, Mrs. S.W. Kessler, Warminster, Pa., and Mrs. Frank 
Hudson, Columbus, Ga., two sons, Albert L. Swann, Marietta, GA., and Robert L. 
Swann, Union Point, two sisters, Mrs. Julia Power, Lincolnton, Ga., and Mrs. 
Lucille Bentley, McIntire, Ga., and two brothers Joe Swann, Brunswick, Ga., 
and Richard Swann, Union Point.

Friends may call at the residence or Calloway Funeral Home.

Additional Comments:
Albert Melvin "Mell" SWANN was born in Taliaferro Co on 28 March 1906 to Byron 
Lee & Rossie Lee POSS SWANN. Mell wed Leila Mae OGLETREE on 27 Dec 1931 in 
Taliaferro Co.
