Edwards remb@utk.edu January 20, 2005, 5:24 pm Crawfordville Advocate Democrat, May 6, 2003, page 5 Funeral Services Held For Ellie Willie Williams Crawfordville, Ga. - Miss Ellie Willie Williams, age 95, of Watson Manor, Thomson, Ga., entered into rest Monday, May 5, 2003, at the McDuffie Regional Medical Center, Thomson, Ga. Miss Williams was born in Crawfordville, Ga. She was the daughter of John Linton and Annie Elizabeth Williams. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crawfordville, where she had taught Sunday School for many years. She was a retired Elementary teacher. She received her education from the University of Georgia. Miss Ellie Willie was well known throughout the community for her love of people and her willingness to lend a helping hand. Survivors include one nephew, Linton Clements of Dearing; Ga.; one niece, Ora H. Cheney of Greenwood, S.C.; and several great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Sarah Clements and Thelma Hollis, three brothers, George Williams, Eddie Williams and Harry Williams. Pallbearers were great nephews, Lint Clements, Hamp Williams, Douglas Williams, Robert Hollis, Keith Hollis, Ronald Hollis, and Thomas Gunn. Honorary escorts were Mr. and Mrs. Linton Clements, Lola Williams; Great Nieces, Gayle Shaver, Betty Brennen, Pam Puett, Diane Teague, Carole Looper, Lynn Neal; and friends, Robert Harold Kendricks, T.C. Harrington, Richard Fowler, K. Willie Dyer, and Carson Moncrief, and the Crawfordville Baptist Church Dorcas Sunday School Class. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at the First Baptist Church of Crawfordville with the Rev. John Autry officiating. Interment was in the Crawfordville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Crawfordville. Starling Funeral Home, Hwy 78, Harlem, GA was in charge of arrangements.
