At the appointed hour the crowd had assembled themselves in the church and awaited the arrival of the marriage party. On arrival, they entered the church in the following order: Mr. Sam Brooke with Miss Dilla(?) Rhodes (?), Mr. Joe Perkins with Miss Willie Neal, Mr. Emmett Darden with Miss May D. Davidson, Mr. Henry Googer with Miss Alice Brown, followed by the happy pair. The ceremony was performed by Rev. A. C. Davidson in a most solemn style. The party then retired to Mr. Mike Taylor's, where awaited them a table filled with good things. Our acquaintance with the young couple has been a most pleasant one. The bride _____ her sensibility (?) and gentleness has won the love and admiration of those with whom she has met. The bridegroom is a young man of unequaled moral habits, honest and upright in all his dealings. Happy couple, we can wish for you no higher blessing than to be thus ever happy.
