Item First. I desire after my death my body to be buried in a decent and Christian manner. Item 2nd. I desire all of my just debts to be paid out of my Estate by my Executor herein after mentioned. Item 3rd. I give and bequeath to MY BELOVED GRANDAUGHTER MARGARETT OPHELIA ALLEN THE WIFE OF NATHAN ALLEN one feather bed, cottin mattress and bed stead and my bureau now in my room at Joseph T. Harrison to be her property in her own right. Item 4th. I give bequeath and devise TO MY BELOVED GRAND DAUGHTER MARY JANE HARRISON DAUGHTER OF JOSEPH T. HARRISON the remainder of my house hold and kitchen furniture consisting of one bed stead feather bed cotton mattress and all of my bed cloathing of every description also cooking stove and all of the cooking utensils and one eight day clock and all other personal property not mentioned in Item 3rd. Item 5th. I give bequeath and devise to my granddaughters named in Items 3 and 4 of this will to wit M. Ophelia Allen and Mary Jane Harrison the following described real estate consisting of one house and lot in the town of Crawfordville in said county containing one acre of land more or less bounded on the North by the public street running from the court house in direction of Union [Point?] and on the East south and West by the lands of Mrs. W A Wright formerly owned by John W Darricott deceased, the said house and lot is hereby given to the said M. Ophelia Allen and Mary Jane Harrison jointly share and share alike. Item 6th. I hereby state that the reason that I have not provided and given the heirs of JOHN W. DARRACOTT MY DECEASED SON, in this will a share in my property thus bequeathed and devised that the said John W. Darracott, deceased has received from me more than his proportional share in my Estate. Item 7th I hereby constitute and appoint my friend Wesley A Wright, Executor of this my last will and testament and the said Executor is hereby instructed impowered and authorized to turn over and deliver to the Said M. Ophelia Allen, and Mary Jane Harrison, all the property mentioned and bequeathed to them in this will both real and personal. This 22nd day of September 1888. /s/ Tabitha (her X mark) Darracott. Flynt Ordinary Additional Comments: Tabitha (Conner) Darracott was born January 20, 1803, died 27 May 1889, Taliaferro Co., daughter of John and Sarah Conner of Newton Co., GA. Married James B. Darracott, as his second wife, before 1830, probably in Newton Co. Tabitha had two children by James B. Darracott: (1) John W. Darracott, b. ca. 1830, probably Newton Co., GA, d. 22 August 1887, Taliaferro Co., GA. Married 26 May 1853, Taliaferro Co., GA to Susan Ann Chapman, daughter of William H. Chapman and Ann (Connell) Andrews (widow of Marcus Andrews). (More will be provided on John W. Darracott and his children later.) (2) Sarah Ann Darracott, b. ca. 1835, either Newton Co. or Taliaferro Co., GA, died before 1860. Married 13 January 1853, Taliaferro Co., to Joseph Thomas “Tom” Harrison, son of William M. Harrison and Martha Rhodes. (Tom Harrison m. 2nd to Amanda Hackney 23 Nov. 1860, Taliaferro Co.). Children of Joseph Thomas Harrison and Sarah Ann Darracott: 1. James William Harrison, b. ca. 1854. No further info. May have died young. 2. Margaret Ophelia Harrison, b. 4 Nov. 1855, Taliaferro Co., GA, d. 27 Feb. 1925, Taliaferro Co. Married 17 Dec. 1874, Taliaferro Co. to Nathan A. Allen. 3. Mary Jane Harrison, b. 1 Dec. 1857, Taliaferro Co., GA, d. 7 October 1927, Taliaferro Co. Married 11 April 1897, Taliaferro Co to William R. McGibony.
