B, Pages 286-287 Written: February 16, 1907 Recorded: August 5, 1907 Will of C. D. Rainwater Georgia, Taliaferro County. I, C. D. Rainwater, being of sound mind on 16th day of February 1907, make and declare this to be my last will and testament revoking all other wills made by me. Item 1st. I will that all my just debts be paid. Item 2nd. I will and bequeath to my wife, Sarah Rainwater, all of my property, both personal and real, in fee simple- She has right to sell and manage the same as she sees proper, title by this will passes to her. In witness whereof I set my hand and seal, this the date above written. /s/ C. D. Rainwater, L. S. We, the undersigned, witnesses, saw C. D. Rainwater sign the above as his will and he signed in our presence and each of us signed in presence of each other at his request. /s/ J. W. Mc Cord /s/ J. L. Williams /s/ H. I. Bowen Georgia, Taliaferro County. Before me, personally came J. W. McCord, named as one of the witnesses to the within writing purporting to be the last will of C. D. Rainwater, who being duly sworn, deposes and says, that he, with J. L. Williams and H. I. Bowen, did on the 16th day of February 1907, attest as witnesses the within writing, in the presence of said C. D. Rainwater, who in their presence voluntarily signed and published the same as his last will; and that the said C. D. Rainwater was, at the time of said attestation, and signing, of sound and disposing mind and memory. /s/ J. W. McCord. Sworn to and subscribed to before me, this August 5th, 1907. /s/ M. Z. Andrews, Ordinary of Taliaferro County Ga. Georgia – Taliaferro County. To Sarah Rainwater – Greeting: The will of C. D. Rainwater, late of said County, deceased, having been duly proved and admitted to record, in my office, in which you are the person named to carry out its provisions; and you, said Sarah Rainwater, having taken and subscribed the oath required by law, as the executrix thereof: these are therefore to authorize you and you are hereby authorized and required, to do and perform all the duties imposed upon you by said will and the laws of said State. Given under my hand and seal of office, This 5th day of August 1907. /s/ M. Z. Andrews, Ordinary of Taliaferro County, Georgia. Additional Comments: Crosby D. Rainwater was born Nov. 26, 1832 in Hancock Co., GA, died June 25, 1907, Taliaferro Co., GA, and is buried at Powelton Community Cemetery, Hancock Co. He was son of Abner Rainwater and his first wife, Elizabeth Henry. Crosby was married June 28, 1859, Taliaferro Co., to Sarah F. Ogletree.
