Reid of said county and state mindful of the uncertainty of this life and of the absolute certainty of death sooner or later do make declare and publish the writing containing in the six (6) following paragraphs as my last will & testament and do hereby revoke any & all other wills heretofore made by me. 1st – I give my body heart soul and spirit to my Lord and Master – Jesus the Christ and desire that my hereinafter Executor see that my body be buried in a decent and Christian like manner. 2nd – I desire that my burial expences and doctor bill in my present illness be paid by my executor so soon after my decease as practicable from any money he may have on hand belonging to my estate – they being all the debts I now have. 3rd – I give and bequesathbequeath unto my husband Jas. F. Reid, in trust for or during his natural life the House & land wherein I now reside containing about fortyh acres more orf less the title to vest in him to _____ the property and keep it in a good repair as it now is for this purpose & to keep him a home during life all the rents issues and profits are to be absolutely his and at his natural death, the said house & lot to descend to and become the property of my two children, Launie A. Yarborough – wife of Wm. H. Yarborough & James E. Reid – if in life but if either one or both of them should die during the lifetime of my said Husband and have no lineal descendants – natural child, children or descendants thereof then I wish the property to go to the one living or having natural issue as above indicated upon the death of my said husband or if both of my said children should die before my said husband and leave no natural issue surviving them then I hereby give said house & land absolutely and in fee simple to my said Husband – J. F. Reid to do as he pleases with and if my said daughter should come into possession of half of said land & house after the decease of my said husband and die without natural issue – natural child, children or other descendants – thereof then I will the whole of said realty to my son James E. Reid, to have and to hold the same absolutely in fee simple to his own property use benefit and behoof. And I further will and direct that in case my daughter L.A. Yarborough survive my said husband and my son Jas. E. Reid be in life that he as trustee for said daughter take possession of and for the use maintainance & support of said L. A. Yarborough her natural life and hold said half of said property – free from any debts, default or miscarriage of her present or any future husband in trust for her & his issue only. It being my intention that my two said children shall have equally – share & share alike, upon division of said realty after death of my said Husband, jusjectsubject to the limitations uses and trust above enumerated and specified and if either one of them die childless and my son without widow, the other is to inherit the whole property. 4th – All the rest and residue of my property of every kind and description including money notes accounts _____ in actions & evidence of debt I give and bequeath to my Husband James F. Reid absolutely to do as he pleases with except the articles specifically bequeathed in the next paragraph. 5th - I give and bequeath to my Daughter L. A. Yarborough my sewing machine to do as she pleases with to take affect at my death. I also give her my mahogany Side Board to be delivered after death of my said Husband. He to have the use of it till his death free of any charge therefor. I also give and bequeath to my son James E. Reid one bed mattress pillows two in number sheets two quilts & the walnut bedstead to be delivered by my Executor when he – Jas. E. Reid shall mary or settle down and I further given him my mahoganymy mahogany book case to be delivered on or after death of my said husband. 6th – I nominate constitute and appoint my beloved husband James F. Reid executor of this my last will and testament and testamentary trustee thereunder. In testimony whereof I do hereinto set my hand and Seal this the 10th day of May 1886. Mrs. Sarah R. Flynt, Ordinary of Taliaferro County Know all whom it may concern that on the 10th day of May 1886, the last will and testament of Mrs. Sarah R. Reid deceased, at the time of her death a citizen of said county was legally proven at a regular term of the court of ordinary a copy of which is annexed duly certified at which time an order was also taken to allow James F. Reid, named Executor in said will, to qualify and that letters testamentary should issue to him upon qualifying as such Executor now therefore the said James F. Reid having atkentaken the oath of office and complied with all necessary prerequisites of the law, is legally authorized to discharge all the duties of an executor in the will of Sarah R. Reid to administer the property of said deceased which is devised according to the will and the law of the land to render a true and perfect inventory and appraisement of all and singular the goods and chattels rights and credits of said deceased and make return of them to the ordinary of Taliaferro County; and further to report annually to the same officer the situations of said estate, his actings and doings until his Executorship is fully discharged, and to fully execute said will. (Stone) Reid was born 1841, Warren Co., GA, died 1886, Taliaferro Co., GA, and is buried at Crawfordville Baptist Cemetery. She was daughter of William Stone and Catherine Harris of Warren Co. Sarah Stone was married December 18, 1855, Taliaferro Co., to James F. Reid, son of William and Nancy (Jarrell) Reid.
