Georgia – Taliaferro County I LUCINDA WOODALL of said State and County being of sound and disposing memory do make this my last will and testament. Item 1st I give, bequeath and devise to MY DAUGHTER MARTHA ANN GUNN, the following property, to wit: - one half of the land that I now own, which shall consist of the Eastern portion of my land, including the dwelling house in which I now reside and all other houses or improvements in said land; also one book case and one side board free from any charge or limitation whatsoever to her own [personal?] use , benefit and behoof. Item 2nd I give, bequeath and devise to MY SON JOHN T. WOODALL, for and during his natural life, the other half of my land, after my daughter, Martha Ann Gunn gets her half, also one feather bed, one small table with glass on it, one of my trunks, one half of my chairs and all of my bed clothes, and it is my will that after the death of my son John T. Woodall provided he dies without lawful heirs that the above described property be equally divided between MY TWO GRANDSONS, JAMES W. AND FRANCIS G. DUNN, together with the full and free privileges and right to sell said land whenever they or either of them may see fit [or as ?] desired. Item 3rd I will and bequeath to MY GRANDSON JAMES M. DUNN one side board and one round table in my rooms. Item 4th I will and bequeath to MY GRANDSON FRANCIS G. DUNN one feather bed, and one white counter pane. Item 5th The remainder of my household and kitchen furniture I will and bequeath to my DAUGHTER MARTHA ANN GUNN. Item 6th It is my will and desire after my death should I leave any cash money that it be equally divided between my daughter Martha Ann Gunn and my son John T. Woodall. Item 7th It is my will and desire that my executrix hereinafter named shall have free full and uninterrupted(?) control of all the property I give to my son, John T. Woodall – to rent out his lands, and proceeds to go to the benefit and support of my son John T. Woodall. Item 8th I hereby constitute and appoint my daughter Martha Ann Gunn, Executrix of this my last will and testament. /s/ Lucinda (her X mark) Woodall August 18th 1890 Signed, declared and published by Lucinda Woodall as her last will and testament, in the presence of us the subscribers, who subscribe our names hereto in the presence of said testator at her instance and request, and of each other, she signing in our presence and we signing in her presence. /s/ W. Taylor who on oath deposes and says that he signed the will now offered for probate of Mrs. Lucinda Woodall, that same is her will, she signing in presence of him and the other witnesses A. R. Taylor and Miss Juttie Gunn, and they signed in her presence and in the presence of each other and that his signature to the will now offered is genuine. He says further that the signature of A. R. Taylor to said will is genuine, that said Taylor is now decd. but that he is familiar with his writing and knows same to be his signature and was present when it was attached to said instrument, and that the making of the will, Mrs. Lucinda Woodall was present which signed as such witness and also Miss Guttie Gunn. /s/ W. Andrews, Ordinary Taliaferro County Georgia – Taliaferro County Personally comes Miss Juttie Gunn, who on oath says that her signature to the will of Mrs. Lucinda Woodall, now offered for probate is genuine. That Mrs. Lucinda Woodall signed same in her presence and in the presence of W. C. Taylor and A. R. Taylor and she, the said Miss Juttie Gunn and W. C. Taylor and A. R. Andrews Ordinary Taliaferro County ------------------ NOTE from Rhoda: Juttie Gunn was sister of Alexander Gunn who married Martha A. (Woodall) Dunn Gunn. W. C. Taylor was William Chesley Taylor. A. R. Taylor was Alonzo Reid Taylor (brother of William Chesley). He was married to Mattie Andrews, daughter of John V. Andrews and Laura Gunn (sister of Alexander Gunn and Juttie Gunn). M. Z. Andrews was Marshall Z. Andrews, brother of John V. Andrews. Additional Comments: Lucinda “Lucy” (Rhodes) Woodall was born ca. 1812, probably Wilkes Co., GA, and died in 1905, daughter of Allen and Jemima Rhodes. She was married Feb. 12, 1837 in Taliaferro Co. to Johnson Woodall (b. ca. 1807, died ca. 1859). Their children were: 1. Martha Ann Woodall, b. ca. 1844. Married (1) November 5, 1857, Taliaferro Co., to Dr. William Dunn. In 1860, they are found in the census living with his father, Hiram Dunn. William Dunn is listed as age 37, occupation: physician and Martha is listed as age 16. After the death of William Dunn, Martha married (2) November 5, 1879, Taliaferro Co., to Alexander H. Gunn, son of Richard and Martha Ann (Rhodes) Gunn. 2. Frances J. Woodall, b. ca. 1846. 3. Jane Woodall, b. ca. 1848 4. Lavisa Woodall, b. ca. 1849. 5. John T. Woodall, b. ca. 1855.
