His parents were natives of Montgomery county and had nine children, two of whom died in infancy. The living children are all residing in Tattnall county and are: Annie, Mary, Victoria, wife of Benjamin Anderson; Amanda, wife of John Collins; Georgia Ann, wife of Daniel Lewis; Emma, wife of Robert Wilkes. Mr. Elias McDildo attended school until manhood and then engaged in the timber trade, a prominent industry of Tattnall county. He also farms, and owns a farm of about 400 acres, partly cultivated and well-timbered. This timber has never been affected by the manufacture of turpentine. Mr. McDildo is a pushing citizen and enjoys the respect and confidence of all who know him.
