McDILDO, Elias Lafayette, was born in Tattnall county, Jan.
7,1863, and is the son of William and Sarah (McGill) McDildo.
His parents were natives of Montgomery county and had nine
children, two of whom died in infancy. The living children are
all residing in Tattnall county and are: Annie, Mary, Victoria,
wife of Benjamin Anderson; Amanda, wife of John Collins;
Georgia Ann, wife of Daniel Lewis; Emma, wife of Robert Wilkes.
Mr. Elias McDildo attended school until manhood and then
engaged in the timber trade, a prominent industry of Tattnall
county. He also farms, and owns a farm of about 400 acres,
partly cultivated and well-timbered. This timber has never been
affected by the manufacture of turpentine. Mr. McDildo is a
pushing citizen and enjoys the respect and confidence of all
who know him.
