Ga - Beards Creek Baptist Church of Christ Submitted by Charles Westberry gslat@uswest.net Rules of Decorum We the Baptist Church of Christ at Beards Creek have adopted the following rules. 1. To assemble ourselves together the Saturday before the first Lords day in every month to confer on the business of the Lords House. 2. Conference to be opened by prayer and closed by singing or prayer. 3. Any person desiring to speak to rise from their seat and address the moderator and to be duly heard and not interrupted only by the moderator except he depart from the subject and no contempt to be cast on his weakness. 4. We are not to receive any report against any member from the world nor to bring any accusation into Church without using the rules laid down in the 18 Chapt. Matthews Gospel, 15, 16, 17 verses. 5. No member to be talking or whispering in time while anyone is up and making their speech. 6. No member to leave their seat in timee of conference without leave from the moderator. 7. The clerk to keep a strict account of all the business transacted in conference and record the same in the Church book. 8. The Church has it in her power to amend to alter to add or diminish at any time on her own noted conference days so she acts according to the word of God. ________________________________________________________________________ 1804 Beards Creek Church being orderly constituted by the Revs, John Goldwire, John Stanfield, Isham Peacock and David Hennessy, orderly Baptist ministers on the 29th of December, 1804 which was carried into effect by a sermon, ably defended by the Revd John Goldwire on the 13th second Cor. and part of the 5th. Examine yourselves whether you be in the faith. Then was Jacob Dees and Moses Westberry ordained as Deacons after which the Lords Supper was administered and Bro. Hennessy called as the pastor of said church. The answer was, when obtained, as long as they could agree. Mar 15, 1805 Conference opened in order, Brother Nathan Smart chosen moderator and also as clerk and found nothing to do. May 18, 1805 Conference opened by preaching. Brother Jacob Dees chosen as moderator, Isham Peacock as clerk and in order, immediately dismissed. Resolved that a letter be wrote to Bro. and Sister Abbett respecting their NR in religion and Moses Westberry chosen to prepare a letter for the same. June 15, 1805 Conference in order and nothing to do. Aug 1805 Conference opened by preaching, nothing to do. December 1805 Conference opened in order. Resolved that Brother Moses Westberry keep the church book. Resolved that Brother Westberry give Giles Ellis a friendly talk for disorder in him. January 18, 1806 Conference opened in order. Brother Jacob dees laid under deeling for certain accusations by him charged to Brother Hennesy until satisfaction is given. Brother Smart moved that Brother Hennesy be given satisfaction in point of the females voting in church government in all cases except that of delegates. [Was decided March 15 as above.] February 1806 Conference opened in order. Brother Jacob Dees delt with for certain accusations against the ministers being admonished and ordered to further trial on March 15th and when brought to trial refuses to make acknowdledgment and deemed by the church to be excommunicated and Brother Isham Peacock to effect the same by preaching a discourse. Also recd report against Bro. Giles Ellis who appeared and gave full satisfaction to the church. April 19, 1806 Conference opened in order. Motion made for the appointment of Deacons in the rooms of Jacob Dees refered until next meeting. Brother Nathan Smart duly appointed as Deacon in the place of the above Dees, also that there be a church fund in this church and Brother Moses Westberry appointed cashier. July 19, 1806 Conference opened in order. Brother Nathan Smart duly elected Deacon and appointed next communion on the third Sabbath in November next. October 17, 1806 Sister Sarah Smith agrieved with Brother Tulles, laid over for further investigation. November 15, 1806 The dispute of Sister Sarah Smith provided that Brother Tulles take the mare back and pay to Sister Smith the sum of 33$ by the 15th May next. January 1807 Brother Jeremiah Slade appointed as clerk in the roome of Brother Moses Westberry and on the same day conference opened in order and the crime against Brother Tulles for violating authority was refered for him to call counsel to try the same. February 14th, 1807 Conference opened in order. Resolved that the Saturday before Communion meeting be the time for the contribution of a church fund. March 14, 1807 Conference opened in order. The case of Brother Tulles and Sister Smith dismissed by reason of Brother Tulles forcing of Sister Smith to go to the civil law to seek right of property and Brother Tulles remains under the dealing of the church for disorder until the suit between the parties at variance shall be determined. April 1807 Conference opened in order. Sister Tulles laid in her grievance against Sister Smith. June 20, 1807 Conference opened in order. Sister Smith confessed she was sorry for what she said the last conference and was pardoned. Ordered by the church that Brother Tulles be excommunicated on Saturday before the third Sunday in July next and that Brother Garnett preach the excommunication sermon and if he fails, Brother Hennesy. Resolved Brother Jerimiah Slade acquaint Brother Garnett with the nature of Brother Tulles crime. Also resolved that Jerimiah Slade purchase a book to enter church rules in. July 18, 1807 Conference opened in order. Resolved that Brother Moses Westberry and Elija Hobbs and Jerimiah Slade seek into the affair brought before the church between Sister Tulles and Sister Ellis and compare the two copies of their oaths together and see where they contradict and reconcile them if possible and report to next conference of the same. Resolved that Brothers John Dyess and Nathan Smart go as delegates to the association. Resolved that a petition be inserted in the letter to the association for the dismission of Beards Creek Church to join the Savannah association. Sister Tulles agrieved with Sister Smith about a report against Sister Tulles called Sister in to trade for the mare which was denied. Laid over for next conference. August 15, 1807 Conference opened in order. Bro. Slade moved that we continue the same association which was seconded by M.C. Leigh and Moses Westberry. Laid over until next conference. Resolved that Brother slade purchase a quire of paper and also that said Slade be cashier. Resolved that Pheiby Tulles be excommunicated immediately, which was done on the 16th of August, performed for Brother Hennesy. September 19, 1807 ********* Conference opened in order. Resolved that we continue in the Hepzibah association. Moved that Brother Westberry and Brother Lane give satisfaction to the church for their joining the Masonic Lodge---They both confess they were sorry for what they had done and begged pardon of the church, which was granted. October 7, 1807 Conference opened in order. All things in order, nothing to do. November 14, 1807 Conference opened in order. All things in order. December 19, 1807 Conference opened in order. Brother Smart moved that when anything has been once decided on in conference that it shall be deemed a crime for a member to be rehersing the matter over as though they were dissatisfyed. Laid over. A. D. 1808---January, no conference. February 20, 1808 Conference opened in order. Brother Smarts move of December 19th, 1807 was taken under consideration and passed into a statue in this church. March 19, 1808 Conference opened in order, nothing to do. Received Jane Carter into fellowship the same day. April 16, 1808 Conference opened in order. Brother Whiddon moved that the conduct of our black brother, Miner, should be taken into consideration. It was seconded and Brother Whiddon was appointed to cite said Miner to our next meeting. Brother Smart moved that if a male member neglects to attend conference meeting that he shall give satisfactory excuse for his absence or be liable for rebuke. It met approbation of the church and was passed into a statue in this church. McLelland John DeLoach Aaron Daniel Aaron Baxley Jeremiah McDaniel May 14, 1808 Brother Miner appeared agreeable to citation and the charge of leaving of his wife or companion and taking of another woman was laid to him which he confessed was the case. Brother John Dyess moved that the trial should be put off until next conference which was agreed upon. Resolved in this conference that male members by turns find wine for the communion table or furnish the Deacons with money for that purpose. June 13th l808 Conference opened in order, a door of experience was open by Brother Charles F1owers was received into this church. Resolvcd that Miner a Negro man formerly belonged to this church be excommunicated. Brother Smart reported that Sister Baxter had declared unfellowship with Sister Griffin. Resolved that Brother Nathan Smart, John Dyess, J. Slade, Moses Westberry and Byrant Lane compose a committy to try to reconcile the parties if possible and make a report of their proceedings at the next conference. June 19, received Beedy Stanley and Mary Davis by letter. July, No Conference Held August 20th 1808 Conference opened in order, the committy reported that they had used their exertions to bring forward a reconcilation bctween the parties at varience but found it impracticle so they restored Sister Griffin and suspended Sister Baxter and Brother Baxter as he did likewise unfellowship Sister Griffin. Tbe church thought fit to set both parties aside until next conference. Brethren Nathan Smart and Moses Westberry chose as messengers to the association. Brother Whiddon moved that the meeting house should be repaired. Laid over untill next conference. September 17, 1808 Conference opened in order. Sister Griffin came forward and confessed before the church that she was truly sorry for what she had said against Sister Baxters family, but Sister Baxter and her husband would not forgive her agreeable to gospel directions, so sister Griffin was restored to fellowship, and others remain under suspension. Brother Whiddons move on August 20th for the repairing of the meeting house brought forward again, laid over until next conference. October 19, 1808 Conference opened in order. Resolved that eight dollars be paid to John Brown and Francis Williams if they cover the meeting house agreeable to bargain. November 19, 1808 Conference opened as usual. Nothing worthy of notice done. December 17, 1808 Conference opened in order. The meeting house presented as done agreeable to contract, but it was not done. It was refered to arbitration and 6 dollars was allowed and paid to the undertakers Viz, John Brown and Francis Williams. 2nd- The matter further inquired into between sister Griffen and brother and sister Baxter, and they all three were set aside until a reconciliation be made by the parties. January 14, 1809 No Conference. February 18, 1809 Conference opened as usual. Nothing worthy of notice done. March 17, 1809 Conference opened in order. Resolved that a yearly meeting be appointed to commence on the Friday before the third Sunday in November next at the Beards Creek meeting House. April 15, No Conference. May 20, 1809 Conference opened in order. Resolved that the trial betwixt Brother Baxterand wife and Sister Griffin be laid over until the Friday before the third Sunday in June next. Resolved that a letter be sent from this church to Brother Stanford and Brother Goldwire requesting their attendance in order to ordain Brother Westberry on Tuesday or Wednesday after the third Sunday in July next. Resolved that a petition be sent from this church to the executor of the Estate of Mr. Lambert craving a small pension for the support of Brother Hennessey. Resolved that Brother Smart or Slade go with our petition and make a report of the answer. June 15, 1809 Conference opened in order. Resolved that Sister Lucy Griffen be restored to fellowshipand that Theophilus Baxter and Mary his wife be excommunicated. July No Conference. But on the 19th of this month, Brethren John Stanford and John Goldwire came according to the request of the church, and after heaving and examining Brother Moses Westberry, they together with Brother Hennessey proceeded to his Ordination on the 19th of this month. August 19, 1809 Conference opened in order. Resolved that Brother Westberrys Credentials be recorded at the next conference. On the 20th of August Brother Jacob Dees was restored to fellowship into this church again. Resolved the Brethren Thomas Griffen and Jeremiah Slade go as messengers this year to the association. From the 20th of August to the 17th of February 1810, was little or nothing transacted in the church, and no records have been kept during this time. February 17, 1810 Conference opened in order. Received a few lines from Brother William Whiddon which laid in an accusation against Brother Hobbs for swapping horses on the Lords day and for giting drunk. Brother Hobbs confessed his faults and the church forgave him. 2nd The church appointed Brother Ellis and Brother Smith to request Brother Dees to attend our next conference in order to examine into affairs that lay rather neglected. March 17, 1810 Conference opened in order. Brother Dees came forward and was examined accordingly and was found to retain his old notions, the church on motion laid the matter over until next conference. April 14, 1810 Conference opened in order. The case of Brother Dees taken under consideration and finally concluded his restoration to church fellowship on the 20th of August 1809 was not legally done on account of his refusing to give a more general satisfaction to the church at large, and the party first agrieved by his hard speeches and accusations, so the church passed a resolve that Jacob Dees should stand until a further reconciliation just as he did when first excommunicated. Resolved that the clerk prepare letters of dismission from this church [as the mother church] to a number of members living in the vinicity of Jones Creek Meeting house, in order to become a constituted body there, should a constitution take place there. Also dismissed Obedience Stanley and Mary Davis by letter. Done in conference April 14, 1810. J. Slade, clerk May 19, 1810 Conference opened in order. A request was made by Mr. Baxter and wife for such a letter the church can freely assign, laid over until next conference. June 16, 1810 Conference opened in order. Mr. Baxters request taken under consideration and laid over for next conference. A petition from Brother Hobbs for a letter of dismission, after a small debate was laid over to next conference. July 14, 1810 Conference opened in order. Mr. Baxters request taken under consideration. Resolved that a short statement of the dealings of the church with Mr. Baxter and wife be drawn up by the clerk and presented to the church at our next conference, also that the clerk prepare a letter for Brother Hobbs and present to the church at our next conference, and likewise a letter of dismission for Brother Westberry, agreeable to his request. August 18, 1810 Conference opened in order. The clerk presented the letters, was read and approved. Resolved that Brother Peacock be considered as a member of this church and delegated to the association, likewise Brother William Smith and in case of failure of either of these, Brother Ellis. On Sunday, was received and baptisted, the following persons, to wit; Edmund Langford, Mary Dees and Beneter Smith. September 15, 1810 Conference opened in order. Resolved that the clerk prepare letters of dismission for brother and sister Langford and Dees. Received for experience brother John Taylor, on next day baptised him. October 20, 1810 Conference opened in order, nothing particular done. November 16, 1810 Yearly Conference opened in order. a petition was laid in for dismission by a number of members of this church for to become a constituted body at the Sarepta Meeting house on the Ohoopie River. Resolved that Brethren Isham Peacock, John Dyess, J. Slade together with Brother Moses Westberry compose a presbytery and constitution, constitute them as a branch of this Church if they shall deem it requisite and report their proceedings at our next conference. December 15, 1810 No conference this month. February 15, 1811 Conference opened. Resolved that Brother Smart report what was done in Conference respecting Brother Hennessey withdrawing his labours from this church. Resolved that Brothers Smith and Slade cite Brother Adison and wife and brother Jasper Dees to our next conference for certain causes. Moved for Sister Vicy Webb to lay under suspension until satisfaction be obtained for marrying without the churchs approbation. March 15, 1811 Conference opened in order. The matter taken up concerning Adison and wife and Jasper Dees and concluded for them to lie under suspension til they give satisfaction to the church. The matter taken up concerning Vicy Cameron for marrying a Negro unlawfully and unnaturally. She is excluded from any benefit of the church. April 20, 1811 Conference opened in order. The case of brother Adison and wife and Jasper Dees was taken under consideration and after some debate Brother Peacock propased a query to the church, viz; whether or not the said Adison and wife was received into this Church legally or not and the Church answered it in the negative. Resolved that Mark Adison and wife or woman be set aside as fully as though they never were in this Church condsidering their reception into this church was illegal. 2. Resolved that James Dees be excommunicated for sundry causes. 3. Resolved that there be a presbetry chose to inquire whether the members at or near Salem meeting House be ripe for constitution, accordingly they appointed the Brethren Isham Peacock, David Hennessey and Brother Wesbery to meet at S. Salem meeting house in order to constitute a Church there if found expedient on Friday before the second Sunday in June next. Resolved that the clerk prepare a letter of dismission for Brother Peacock to join the Church there if constituted. May 17, 1811 Conference opened in order. A query laid before the Church by brother Smart. Whether a person being baptised upon a profession of faith and refuses to partake of the Lords Supper can be deemed an orderly member of the Church or not. Laid over. June 15, 1811 Conference opened in order. The church thinks it proper to take some steps with to a member that does not commune. The question is what that step is to be. Laid over. July 20, 1811 Conference opened in order. The question above taken up and laid over til our next conference. August 1811 No conference. September 14, 1811 Conference opened in order. The above question taken up. The church is of the opinion that if a member sets off from the communion twice running that the Deacons or Deacon shall inquire into the cause and make his report to the next conference. 2. Appointed Brother Thomas Ellis Deacon in the place of Brother Nathan Smart; dismissed. 3. Appointed brother John Dees clerk. Oct 19, 1811 Conference opened in order. The query by Brother Ellis is if expedient for members of a church to arbitrate matters betwixt two neighbors that are not members of the church, answered in the affirmative. November 15, 1811 Conference opened in order. Resolved that the church make up four dollars and offer Brother Westberry for the table cloth and towel or if he should choose the said cloths to give them up to him. Received by letter Brother Hennessey and his daughter, Elizabeth, into this church. Resolved that Brethren Thomas Ellis, B. Lane, Smith and Hodges be appointed as a committe to meet at Capt. McDaniels meeting house in order to receive members into this church on the first Saturday of December next. Received by letter a black, Sister Doll, on the 16th of ins. The committee appointed at Beards Creek meeting house mey at Capt. McDaniels meeting house December 7th. Thomas Ellis, William Smith, B. Lane, Nathan Hodges, David Hennessey and Isham Peacock who was appointed clerk. A door being opened by prayer preceeded business. Received by letter twelve as members of Beards creek Church. Further concluded this branch be known as Fellowship, then concluded by singing; Further the above committee authorized Brorher Hennessey with the above members to said branch to receive members by baptism or by letter and to hold conference and communion agreeable to gospel rule and make a return of their minutes to the church quarterly. The proceedings of the committee that was appointed to meet at Capt McDaniels meeting house respecting settling a church there was laid before the church and was approved of and accepted. May 16, 1812 Conference opened in order. Laid in before the church by the branch at Sarepta our last meeting for the church to give them an answer whether it would be right in their present situation for them to ask for a constitution or not. Answer: The church has taken up what was laid before them and they wish to give every encouragement provided they can get a supply as to a pastor. July 18, 1812 Conference opened in order. Received a letter from the arm at Sarepta requesting assistance from the church for a constitution there. In answer to the request the church would wish to give every assistance and encouragement that they can, provided they can do it in order, but there is a small embarressment in the mind of the church by your stateing the disadvantages you labor under in not enjoying church privelages as if the church did deprive you of some privelages that you would wish to enjoy, therefore we wish you to send one or two members forward in order to rectify that embarressment. September 19, 1812 Conference opened in order. Appointed brother John Dees to write a letter of dismission for Sister Westberry. October 17, 1812 Conference opened in order. The church agreeable to a petition from the branch at Sarepta has agreed to give everyone a letter as they apply. November 16, 1812 Conference opened in order. Brother Dees as clerk is required to procure letters of dismission for brother Lane and brother Whiddon in order to obtain a constitution at Sarepta. December 19, 1812 Conference opened in order. Nothing to do, only received one by letter namely John a servant of Brother Dyess. March 20, 1813 Conference opened in order. A petition was laid in by the Fellowship Branch for to move the constitution from Beards Creek up to Brother McDaniels meeting house and it granted those contin.[?] Those applied for letters thus: Brothers; Dyess, Taylor, Slade, Hodges, Smith, Lane, Whiddon and Dees. Brother Coward was appointed Clark. June l3th 1812 No conferance by reason of its being court and muster at the same time and place. July 1lth 1812 Conferance opened in order. Coward, is it right for a person to tell their experience to a few individuals and upon that to be received into the Church. Answard No. September l2th 1812 Conferance opened in order. Brother Coward appointed moderator. A distress existing between Brother Coward and Brother McCleland was brought into the Church and after some debating was laid over for a more mature consideration. October 1812 Conferance opened in order. The matter betwen the Brethren Coward and MCleland was called and Brother McCleland having some acknowdledgements to make to Brother Coward and he not present, it was still laid over. Moovd by Brother John Tilmon and establisbed by this Branch that we for the fewtor try to keep a fund composed of money or other good produce according as the Church and vicinity may feel willing and able to communicate for the supporte of our mustor and other escpences of the Church, the Clark to keep a minnit of the names and som of those that commununicate and of all thats receivd in and laid oute. November 12, 1812 No conferance by reason of court and muster at the same time and place. December 12 1812 Conferance opened. The greviance betwen the Brethren Coward and MClelend was call and after considerable talk upon it, it was still laid over. January 9 1813 Conferance opened in order. Brother McCleland came forward and made such acknowledgements to Brother Coward , he being the blame of the destres that had been upon himself and craving forgivness that it was made up. April 10 1813 Conferance opened in order. Brother Hennesy reported that the Beirds Creek Church considered her number so small that would attend the old meeting hous that she was not able to keep her and as such she freely granted the petition of the branch to move her constitution to the fellowship Branch with this book and the communion furniture. The fellowship Branch feels dispos'd in this Conferance to alter her title from that of fellowship, to that of the Cedar Creek Church now an establisht Church upon the Constitution of the old Beirds Church. May 8th 1813 Conferance opened. The covenant wrote in this book was red and approvd. Bro. Hennesy authorisd to receive and baptise subjects into this Church anywhere in the limits of this Church on cases of necessity. Adjurned. June 1813 The Church met by devine permission. Conference opened in order. A dore of expearence was opened. No one came forward. The Church resolved a male member living in reasonable distance, missing 3 meetings to shall be liable to be delt with dismissd in order. February 1814 The Church met by devine permission. Conferance opened in order. Moved by brother Tilman that the Church consider the neads of our pastor. Resolved by the Church that the Clark give him all that we have in our fund, accordingly done the whole being 10 dollars and 50 cents. Dismist in order. March 1814 Conferance opened in order. Apriel 1814 Conferance opened in order. The accuseation against brother Mcland and brother Baxley taken up, debated some upon, and laid over til next meting incorse, so dismiss in order. May 1814 The Church mot by devine permission, conferance being opened in order. Brother McCleland and brother Baxley came forward and confest and made such acknowldgements that they gaind fellowship again. Then aftor several motions concerning the building of a meeting house brother Coward stats the Church point out two men contractors and have the house built, agreed and pointed John Tilman and Jeremiah McDaniel. Dismiss in order. June 1814 The Church met by Devine permission. Conferance opened in order, nothing came before the Church. Dismisst in order. July 1814 No conferance. August 1814 The Church met by devine permission. Conferance opened in order and after spending some space of time in converseing about the different arangements of our Church affairs we was dismissd in order. September 1814 The Church met by devine permission at Ceder Creak meting house. A dore for expearance was opened. Apriel the 9 1815 The Church met and conferance opened. Sister Durrance and give satisfaction to the Church on report that was in the world. Bro. Coward moved forard a report that was in world about brother DeLoach and he give satisfaction. Dismist by singing. May the 14 day 1815 The Church met and Conferance was opened by prayer by Bro. Ceder Creek December the 9 day 1815 The Church met accordin to appointment and receved a few lines from brother Hennesey informing us that fe intends to move to the western country, desiers a letter from us and the Church then dismist them to any Church of the same faith and order and requstted brother Peacock to right there leters. Concluded and dismist in order. Jan. the 8 1816 The Church met and Confarance opened in order and brother William Kieshen prsented his letter and was cordieatly recievd. Brother John Tilmon laid in the fun 2 dollars. The Church dismist in order. John McClannon 1 dollar. July the 13 day 1816 The Church met. Confaranco opened by prayer. The Church resolved that the therd quarterly meetin,g commence the second Lords day in September and regerly once in three months and so to continue. Requested Bro. Peacock to write to the association and apointed Brethren Aaron Daniel and Brother Coward diligates to. Dismist in order. Apriel the 19 1817 The Church met and confarence opened by prayer. The case of Brother Maclallan was taken up and laid over. John Tilmon give to Peacock three (3) dollars and one buisel seed pees. Meeting closed by singing. June the 14 day 1817 The Church met and confarance opened in order and Brother MClaeland come forward and give satisfaction to the Church and was restored. Sister Durrance case was taken up and concluded to request the Brethren Deas and Peacock to talk to her and to report to us at next confarance. Requested Brother Peacock to right letters for the sisters: Sister Osteen, Sister Smart and Brother Tailar. Dismist in order. October the 18: 1817 The Church met and confarence opened by prayer. Bother Dious and Peacock reports that they in answer to our request have seen sister Durrance and she promis to come. The Church took up sister Dunce case and conclued to baire no longer with her conduck so excommunicated her for the Church is no more accountable for her conduck so requested brother Peacock it to the world. Confarance closed by prayer. Apriel the 25 1818 The Church met and confarance being opened in order and the Church requested Brother Hodges to request Brother Coward to attend next confarance and asked brother Macdaniel to request Bro. Aaron Daniel also to attend. Also dismist in order. June 1818 Opened in order. Brother Hodges was requeted to desiered to requested Brother Baxley to attend next confarance. August Lords day 1818 The Church met and confarance being opened in order and Brother Hodges reports that he has seen Brother Baxley and requested him to come to this confarance and he did not apear. The Church considered its duty to lay him undera sensure. 2. Brother H. Rushen requested a letter and the Church requested brother Peacock to right him a letter in order. Dismist in order. July the 25 day 1818 The Church met and confarance opened in order. Bro. Maclalan said that he accordien to request he has been and seen Bro. Baxley and he seemed pettenant tho he did not apear and the Church thought proper to excummuntycate Bro. Aron Baxley that the Church be not chargabel with his disorder. 2. Confarance opened by opening a door to hear expearances. Sister Coward was received. and proceeded to confar on the case of Bro. We have apointed Brethern McClellan, Daniel Rushin to be, an our letter which is to be prepared by Brethern Bates and Blackston by autheriseing them to assign the Church Clerks name to said letter Jon Coward. February the 23 1820 The Church met in confarance and concluded to have communan the forth Lords day of Apriel. Brother Brewer confest his fault and restored and give in his letter and receved. June the 22 1820 The Church met and Confarance opened by prayer by Brother Bruer. Nothing to do, dismist in order. Confarance opened and concluded to meet and work on the meeting house and maid up four dollars 050 cent for nails. Confarance closed by prair. July the 29 1821 The Church met. Confarance opened by prayer. Brother Coward relates brother Rushon is in the habit drunkeness and sayes he doth not intend to come to meetings any more so he is cut of younan with us til satisfaction is maid and fellowship obtained: Secondly took up the case Brother Aaron Daniel for fiteing and sayin he thinks to do worse is also excluded til sattisfaction is maid. Apointed Brother Coward to purches two acres of land to build a meateing house on and to obbide by his judgment in that case and appointed Bro. Brewer to and Brth. Nathan Hodges and Brth. John Coward to reprosent this Church in Pidmont assoseation. Dismist in order. September 21 1821 The Church met in Confarnace and only agreed to furnish money for printing the minits for this year. Closed by singing. November 1821 Brother Westberry and Peacock came and found the church not wiling to be disolved and the inhabitinco not wiling to be disolvd. Recomend the Church to wait on the Lord and be in obediance. Dec. the 22 1822 Confarance opend and brother Brewer desiered letter of dismission for him and his wife. Granted. Brother Peacock requested right and assign in her behalf. Dismist in order. June the 21 Confarance opend in order. Brother Coward requested a letter of dismission and also for his wife. It was granted and Peacock requested to write. The Church requested Brother Peacock to right to the asosceation. Dismist in order. August 21 1824 Tho Church met. Confarance opend in order and requested Brother Peacock prepair a letter to asoseceation. Apointed Bro. Hodges the messenger. Dismist in order. Sister Sary McClennon died on the llth of genuary 1826. The committy appointed by the Church met in part viz: Fleming Bates, Abraham Matt (Mott?) and Thomas Prevatt. With the brethren of this Church on the 27th Genuary 1826 and call in Brother Bruer and held a consultation and found the Church too week to keep house and finely thought it would be more to the glory of GOD to be desolvd and do unanimous1y agree to dosolve the constitution and Ceder Creek Church is considered to be no more. And that Brother Nathan Hodges and sister Mary Hodges his wife, Sister Elizabeth Daniel, Sister Sary McDaniel and sister Mary Daniel, Sister Elizabeth Deloch and Sister Jane Futch have letters of dismission in full fellowship.
