[Comment:  This is one of the documents in the case wherein John Dixon (or 
Dickson) was accused to stealing a hog from Henry Holland.  As an added note, 
Henry Holland was a soldier in the Revolutionary War.  He fought for a North 
Carolina company, later moving to the Tattnall County of Georgia.]

[Comment:  The document was transcribed as spelled.  Some words were very 
hard, if not impossible to read.]

[Comment:  I was not able to find mention of Jonathan Fountain in any records.]
 

John Dixon
vs
Henry Holland}		Malicious Prosecution

The defendant Henry Holland being duly sworn saith that Jonathan Fountain is a 
material witness in the above case that he believing he has been subpoenaed & 
that he does not attend and that he expects to prove his … …. at the next term 
and this deponent further saith that said Jonathan Fountain lives near Emanuel 
Court House that he promised this deponent that he would attend at this term 
of this honorable court if no accident occurred to prevent that.  This 
deponent has understood & firmly believes that the cause of his not attending 
this court was the loss of his one horse which took lame last Sunday week that 
this accident is not in… to effect unnecessary delay.
