Sapp has a dubious reputation. Between 1850 and 1860 he is convicted of having sex with a black slave and murder.] [Comment: I was able to find many of the people mentioned in the case. The most prominent was Julian Hartridge. In 1850 he’s a student in Cambridge, MA. In 1860 he’s an attorney in Savannah and, apparently, the Solicitor General for the Eastern District of Georgia. He served as a private during the Civil War and in 1865 applied for a presidential pardon. He later served in the U. S. House of Representatives.] Superior Court of Tattnall County, March Term 1858 State vs Elam Sapp } Swearing An.. . McCall, Prosecutor March 1858 William Clifton, Foreman Nolee …… March 23d 1859 J. He is listed as a farmer.] in and for said county of Tattnall and that the said John M Dasher, justice as aforesaid, did lawfully administer an oath to the said Elam Sapp and receive from said Elam Sapp an affidavit in writing on which said oath was administered, and there and there the said Elam Sapp did unlawfully feloniously, willfully, ……ghy, absolutely and falsely swear to said affidavit in writing and in the … and took his corporal oath concerning the truth of the matter contained in said affidavit; (he the said John M.
