It appears Tillman and Coward are assuming bond/responsibility for Elam Sapp’s appearance at the next superior court session.] [Comment: There are a number of water smears on the document hampering the ability to read and transcribe.] Elam Sapp James Tillman and Benj Coward Bond to the next Superior Court For the appearance of the said Elam Sapp ---------------- Georgia Tattnall County} [Comment: There is a James Tillman in the 1850 Tattnall census. There is a Benjamin Coward in the 1860 Tattnall census.] Known all men by these presents that we James Tillman, Benjamin Coward and Elam Sapp are ..la and firmly bound unto his Excelency [ Comment: Excellency ] the Governor of said State from this time being and to his Successors in office in the just and full sum of five hundred dollars for the true payment of wich [Comment: which] we bind ourselves our being Ex…itors and Administ….. severly and jointly firmly by these presents ….. with our Seals and dated this the first day of October 1857. The conditions of the above obligation is sutch [Comment: such] that if the said Elam Sapp does appear at the next Superior Court to be held on the fourth Monday in October 1857 then to ….. while the said court last from the felonies false swearing against Anson G.
