He was a member of Calvary Baptist Temple, Senior Citizens and the Golden Age Club. Surviving are a daughter Mrs. Era Alecia Bruha of Puerto Rico; a son, Edwin W. Brewton of Savannah; six sisters, Mrs. Leona Rogers; Mrs. Mildred Bragg and Mrs. Jessie Brown, all of Savannah, Mrs. Thelma Durrence of Waycross, Mrs. Catherine Bragg of Midway, and Mrs. Janie Akins of Reidsville; a brother Palmer Brewton of Claxton; and a grandchild. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 am at Calvary Baptist Temple, with burial in Hillcrest Abbey. Albert Goette Funeral Home is in charge. Funeral Notice (also in Savannah Morning News): BREWTON - NATHAN J. Funeral services for Mr. Brewton will be held at Calvary Baptist Temple 11 a.m. Monday. Rev. John T. Tippert officiating. Internment Hillcrest Abbey. Pallbearers will be nephews. Mr. Brewton will liein state at the church from 10 a.m. until time for service. Albert Goette Funeral Home in charge. Additional Comments: Note: Nathan Brewton was the 10th of 11 children of Simon Wells Brewton (1865- 1932) and his first wife, Queen Elizabeth Bath (1872-1914). Nathan was born on February 9, 1911.
