Mrs. R. J. Harris Sr.

Metter – Mrs. Bernice T. Jefferies Harris, 64, died at her home in Collins early
Saturday afternoon, following a short illness.  Her husband is a prominent
Collins businessman.

She was a native of Telfair County and the daughter of the late Tom and Johnnie
Jefferies.

Survivors are her husband, Roy J. Harris Sr., Collins; three sons, Roy J. Harris
Jr., Joe B. Harris and James C. Harris, all of Collins; one daughter, Mrs. L. S.
Peterson, Miami, Fla.; one brother, Joe Jefferies, Milan, Ga.; three
half-brothers, Johnny Jefferies, McRae, ?Bud Jefferies, McRae, and Pleas
Jefferies, Claxton; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Anderson, Pasadena, Texas; a
half-sister, Mrs. Lena Zeigler, Milan; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Collins Baptist Church,
with Rev. Andy L. Bonner and Rev. H. M. Overstreet officiating.

The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m.  It will be taken to Collins
Sunday afternoon.

Hooks Mortuary of Metter is in charge.
