The native of Emanuel County was a member of the Reidsville Baptist Church and was a veteran of World War II. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Sharpe Woods of Reidsville; his mother, Mrs. Lula H. Woods of Collins; seven sisters, Mrs. R. L. Trent of Morristown, Tenn., Mrs. Russell Tidwell of Manassas, Mrs. Durwood Key of Sylacauga, Ala., Mrs. Richard Pearson of Reidsville, Mrs. Charles Lifer of Huntsville, Ala., Mrs. David Gaulden of Westchester, Ohio, and Mrs. Everett Whatley of Puerto Rico; two brothers, Roy Woods of Glennville and Jimmy Woods of the US Air Force in Thailand. Funeral services will be held at 3pm from the McCall-Trapnell Funeral Home with interment in Reidsville Cemetery. McCall-Trapnell Funeral Home is in charge. Additional Comments: Johnnie was born 21 Jun 1923 to Rowey Durden Woods and Lula Hackle Woods. His first wife was Blondel Mildred Canady Woods who is also buried at Reidsville City Cemetery.
