He was the son of Thomas? Childree. Drury married Barbrey (Barbara) around 1815 in Macon County, Georgia. First wife was PHOEBE BOWLES (? -?) Born in Charlotte Co, VA; No known children 2nd wife: Barbrey (Barbara)was born between 1797 - 1800 in SC. Both are buried in Childree Family Cemetery. (No longer exists, but was on Highway 267 south of Pottersville) Children of Drury Childree and Barbrey (Barbara) are: 1. John D. (H.) Childree, born 1822. 4. Ezekiel Childree, born 1827. 5. Abner Childree, born 1831. 6. Young L. Childree, born 1834; died September 20, 1863 in Chickamauga, Hamilton, TN; married Sarah Amanda Barfield. 7. Asa A. Childree, born 1835; died September 19, 1863 in Chickamauga, Walker County, Georgia; married Sarah Amanda Barfield Abt. 1855 in Alabama; born April 06, 1835 in Dale County, Alabama. 8. James F. Childree, born 1829. (1839 - 1880?) 9. Isaiah Childree (? - ?) 10. Josiah Childree (? - ?) Probably some daughters as well. John and James both migrated to Barbour County, Alabama where they married and presumably settled. It's unlikely that they served in a Georgia infantry regiment. But Josiah probably lived in Georgia at the time. Assuming the ten brothers version is correct. He would probably have been 16-18 years old when the war started. There are almost zero records about Josiah Childree available online. He may have married a woman name Delila. CSA Co C 12th Childree, David A.- private March 25, 1862. Wounded near Richmond, Va. May 1862. Wounded in eye, resulting in loss of sight, at Petersburg, Va. April 2, 1865. Paroled, Macon, Ga. May 1865. (Resident of Georgia since April 4,1840.) Childree, Drury N.- private June 15, 1861. Discharged, disability, April 12,1862. (Resident of Georgia since 1852.) Childree, J.- private June 15, 1861. Discharged, disability, in 1861. Childree, William W.- Private June 30, 1864. Admitted to General Hospital #9, at Richmond, Va. August 17, 1864 ; furloughed for 60 days August 18,1864. Lost leg.
