MR. ANDREW J. HOBBS, DEAD Mr. Andrew J. Hobbs died at the residence of his son, Mr. J.J. Hobbs, No. 1418, Tenth Avenue at an early hour Monday morning of last week, after an illness of only thirty-six hours. He was taken with congestive chill Saturday night and was unconscious until his death. Mr. Hobbs was 72 years of age and was a veteran of the civil war in which he served in the Forty Sixth Georgia regiment, and was a gallant soldier. He was of the Primitive Baptist faith. He is survived by five sons, Messrs.. J.I., G.T., and Allie Hobbs, of Columbus, Mr. J.A. Hobbs, of Hogansville, Ga., and Mr. Virgil Hobbs near Butler. His daughters are Mrs. Mollie Stewart, of Putnam, Ga., and Mrs. C.J. Woodall of Kissimmee, Fla. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. A. Parks, of Houston county, Ga. The remains were taken to Prosperity church, 12 miles south of Butler, where the funeral took place Tuesday, the interment being in the family burying ground.
